The IMLT commissioned an animation to help teachers and the team explain about money and lending to a young audience.
Starting with some initial concept art and character design to inspire the client, I then began working with the client to create a script which could encompass all the details and concepts they wanted to explain to fit within a story.
After creating backdrops, character designs and blocking out the main scenes to the script, I moved onto the animation and editing, resulting in ‘The Loan Shark’, a colourful animation about a penguin who gets tangled up with a literal loan shark.
Featured on BBC News, the animation was part of an ongoing, nationwide initiative focussed on early years education. Used by teachers in combination with a lesson plan, the animation was designed to spark discussion and teach some early lessons about money and the potential pitfalls of borrowing in a fun and accessible way.
